The Last Chapter

In Her Best Party Dress by sparksoffire

Here is what I know for sure.

The difficulty that God allows into our lives is not the end of the story.

Disease is temporary. Pain is impermanent. Disappointment is fleeting. That Psalm 23 speaks of walking through the valley of the shadow of death means there’s a beginning and an end to the anguish. It’s not forever.

For the child of God, all pain is only passing. In the blink of an eye, it will be over and we will be in Glory. God, alone, has always been and always will be. So let us praise Him. Let us rest in the reality that any hurt we feel today will pass. But when it is gone, God will remain. And He will be to us brighter and sweeter and better than He ever has been.

Because we will know what it means to trust Him.

And we will know beyond a shadow of any uncertainty that He is trustworthy. And for that reason, the difficulty we experienced will be worth it all.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us” (Romans 8:18 ESV).
