Project #3: Get the Picture?

Me, sicker than I have ever been. Ever.

But we really need to make an effort to get in the picture. Our sons need to see how young and beautiful and human their mamas were. Our daughters need to see us vulnerable and open and just being ourselves — women, mamas, people living lives. Avoiding the camera because we don’t like to see our own pictures? How can that be okay? — Allison Tate

  1. I’m just catching up on past posts, but had to comment on this. When I was pregnant, I swore I would never let anyone take a picture of me right after I gave birth. I wanted to make sure I had combed my hair and maybe even applied some make-up. But after my baby was born, the last thing I cared about was me. I look back at those photos and don’t even care that my hair is a wreck or my skin is a strange shade of yellow. All I see is my beautiful baby and me smiling one of the happiest smiles of my life!
